Z-category security for Baba Ramdev : Modi Government

Controversial yoga guru Baba Ramdev has been given Z-category security by the central government considering his "vulnerability to assaults from his rivals".

The decision has been taken by the home ministry in the wake of getting inputs from security organizations and expanded view of threat to Ramdev, official sources said.

As such, Ramdev was qualified for Z-category security just inside the locale of Uttarakhand according to a decision of the state government.

Near saffron forces, Ramdev, originator of Haridwar-based Patanjali Yogpeeth, had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi not long ago.

The sources said Ramdev will be given commandos of one of the paramilitary forces with quick impact. Upwards of 40 security staff will be guarding him round-the-clock.

Ramdev has been vocal for a few years requesting activity to bring back black money stashed abroad and discipline to those discovered guilty.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said he had welcomed nine people to join the massive cleanliness drive that he propelled today and asked for each of them to draw nine more into the initiative to make it viral.

The PM said people required to "change their mindset and join hands" to clean the country. "This is not about Modi... Modi is stand out of its 1.2 billion people... this is a people's task," he said.

The 'Swachh Bharat' or 'Clean India' battle he said was past governmental issues. "It is propelled by patriotism not governmental issues," he said, praising past governments for their exertions towards cleanliness.
