Manny Pacquiao dominated Chris Algieri for 12 rounds in Macau Saturday night and while PacMan didn't get the first knock out in six years which he so mightily predicted, the one-sided victory did set the table for the boxing match everyone is waiting for.
The six knock-downs Pacquiao landed on Algieri didn't finish off the Long Island fighter but showed that the Filipino is still a force to be reckoned with after retaining his WBO welterweight crown.
So when he was asked by Max Kellerman after the Cotai Arena beatdown if the fight against Floyd Mayweather might finally happen, Pacquiao said: "Yes, I want that fight and the fans deserve it."
Algieri's run-and-duck style might have prevented Pacquiao from the KO he wanted, but the question remains: Was the vintage display enough for Mayweather even think about avoiding what would be the richest fight in ring history?
The ball is in Money's court.
